Brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. In this video, we're going to go through headlight replacement on this 2000 Ford Mustang. We're going to show you both if you're just changing the bulbs as well as to change the whole headlight assembly. This is the same for any '94 to '04 Mustang. You can see here our Mustang with its old, clouded, faded, and yellow headlights. Change them over. Now you can see nice, new, clear headlights. We did the upgrade to the GT style shaded ones. So there you can see it again. Old, faded, yellow. Nice, clear, and new. Again, you can upgrade on any vehicle if you want. There's the old style from the side. At 1A Auto we also sell the clear style.
Your headlight is held in by two tabs right here. You push back on it and then pull up. Push back and pull up. You want to put a towel or something between your light and your bumper. Pull out the tabs. Then pull your light forward. Sometimes it will really stick in the back, so you might pull harder. The cloth just makes it so that the bottom of the light doesn't scrape on your bumper. Looking from behind the light, pull it out some. There's a connection right here. Reach underneath. There's a tab underneath and a tab on top. Pull those apart and push that off. Pull it out some more. Here's your headlight.
Just kind of push both sides back, and that comes off. There's my assembly out. To change this bulb, to change this side bulb, just twist counterclockwise. It comes out. The bulb pulls right out of that socket. If you're looking to change the headlight bulb, twist counterclockwise. That comes off when your bulb pulls out. It needs a new O-ring. New bulb goes in. Push this retaining ring on there pretty good. Twist clockwise to lock it.
New light from 1A Auto. Put the parking light bulb in. Get our cloths here. Okay. Set up our cloth on the bumper cover. Make sure it's pretty flat. Plug our side light in. Plug the headlight in. Then go back. There's a tab that's sticking out and you want to look it right into a little hole here. Okay. So everything should be fitting nice and flush here. You want to push it in and put your tabs back in. You're all set.
