Hi, this is Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how to video helps you out. Next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. In this video, we're going to show you how to service a taillight, both if you just need to change a bulb in a taillight or if you need to replace one because it's been broken. The only tools you'll need if you're just going to change the bulb, you'll need a flat blade screwdriver. If you're looking to replace the whole taillight, you'll need a flat blade screwdriver as well as you'll need a 10 millimeter socket, preferably a deep socket and a ratchet.
Okay, to service the taillight, you open the trunk. There is a clip right here that probably going to come up pretty easy. Probably need to use a screwdriver or something. Pull that clip out. This installation comes down. If you're just looking to change a taillight bulb, you should be able to twist this counterclockwise and out and your bulb just pulls right out and back in. Okay, also there's another small light right up in here. You can reach in, turn it counterclockwise, pull it out. Again, that bolt just pulls right straight out and back in. If you are looking to replace your whole assembly, then there's three nuts right here that hold it. A 10 millimeter socket, put it on there and put the ratchet in place. I'm going to speed it up here as I remove those three speed nuts. It will help if you have a longer or a deep socket to do these studs on the taillight. They are long.
This is our original light. New light from 1A Auto. Okay, you can see everything is the same. On the back side, the new light from 1A Auto comes with the gasket and everything. My original is fine. I am just going to reinstall that and obviously reinstallation is just the reverse of the procedure. Look in, make sure it goes in correctly. These nuts, when you put a new light in, they're called speed nuts and they actually cut right in to the studs. They are actually a little. They give some resistance. They're not that difficult to tighten up. I'll speed it up here again as I tighten up those nuts. With the speed nuts, you do want to push with wrench, you want to push with the nuts and push it onto the stud as the nut cuts in. Again, that's what keeps the nut on the stud as it actually cuts right into it. Make sure they're bolted back in. The light come in and lock it in place. Work it in then lock it in place. Okay, put your trim panel back up in place and put this on and back in.

Parts were in good shape and fit perfectly but did not include mounting "nuts". Had to retrieve, repair and reuse old ones. Fortunately I found them all.
