Hi, I'm Mike Green from 1A Auto. Today, I'm going to show you how to remove and replace the headlights on this vehicle. It's a 1999 Suburban. It's generally the same as a 1988 to 99 Chevy or GMC truck, as well as the '92 to '99 Suburban, Yukon, the 2-door Jimmy full sized, and the Tahoe. With that, the first thing we're going to do is open up the hood to access the headlight. If you're looking to replace your light bulbs, locate these two five millimeter studs. Remove them with socket or a wrench. Your light comes out. You have access to the back of the headlights. You can just unplug the low beam and the high beam and replace the bulbs. If you're looking to replace the headlight assemblies, stay with us. We'll go into more detail on that. In behind there's a mounting plate; if your headlight's been damaged, normally this mounting plate is damaged also. If we want to replace the whole headlight assembly, we'll have to remove the grill.
To do that, what we do next is remove the parking light. It has four Phillip's screws that we take out. Okay, let's speed this up a little bit. You remove the light. You just click the thumbs and twist and pull the lights out. Your parking light's removed; the opposite parking light. There are ten screws which we're going to quickly show you on the grill. These screws hold the grill in, two behind the parking lights, two in the middle, two behind the opposite side parking lights, and then four up top. I got the 10 bolts out. You can see the headlights are still in. The marker lights are still in, but they are unplugged. Once those bolts are out, you can pull it forward. Just make sure everything comes apart in here. Bulbs and stuff are clear. The grill's out, separate.
You can easily unbolt your headlight assemblies. From here we're looking at the driver's side headlight assembly, we'd remove this bolt, this bolt, this bolt, and this bolt. Going to unplug; your headlight's free. This is the new headlight assembly. Okay, and quadruple time. Shops charge 50 bucks an hour for this stuff. This has got to be worth 200 bucks an hour anyways. Look at that hand movement. I don't even know if tools move that fast. Now that the light's bolted in, we can connect the headlight harnesses. Once the headlight harnesses are connected, we'll reach into the cockpit real quick. Test the low beams, click on the high beams. Oh! Everything looks good.
We can put the grill back on, just reverse your procedure. Tilt it in there. Pull the lights through first, each side. Tilt it in. There's a little harness in the center, too. Make sure that doesn't get pinched in there. Push it up in. The top, the plastic lip goes up over the top of the sheet metal. Once everything looks right, we'll bolt it back in. You're ready to go. Ten they're seven millimeter bolts. We've re-installed the grill. We need to reinstall, we need to plug in the markers and install the parking lights. We're now back in close-up. This you put in and you twist. These go in just like they came out. You get them to click as they lock into place. A shot of espresso or two.
There I am standing in front of the truck. My lips aren't moving. I am talking to you through the magic of computers. We hope this video helped you out how you can see we got our lights back in. Our grill's on and our parking lights.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service as well as replace the entire taillight assembly on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe. We show you on the driver side, but the passenger side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this include new taillights from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Using your flat blade screwdriver, you want to pry out this cap and this cap right here. Now, you want to remove this Phillips screw and this Phillips screw. We'll just fast-forward as Don does that. Now, pull the taillight straight out and then pull back on the tab on this harness and pull it free.
Now, if you want to just service the bulbs, you just remove these two Phillips screws holding on this panel. Now, you just pull the bulb out and then push your new one in. The other two are the exact same way. If your circuit board ever breaks, we do offer exact replacements at 1AAuto.com.
To replace the bulbs, you can just put that circuit board back into place and replace those two Phillips screws. In the back is the original light; in the middle is the new light from 1AAuto. You can see in exact replacement. We also offer kind of a performance style and these styles do change from time to time. This is example of what we were offering when this video is done.
To re-install, plug it back in, put the light in place, and line up the holes, and re-install those two screws.
Replace those two caps. To give you a better idea of how they look, on the left is the new one and on the right is the old one. You can see they're identical. These just look a little bit newer. Then for the performance taillight and just a close up of it. And you're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

Hi. I'm Mike Green. In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace the taillights on, this is a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, but the taillight procedure is the same for this style suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, and also the 88 to 98 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. We'll get to it.
Taillights, once you open the tailgate or the rear doors, are held in by two screws, one down there, and one up in there. What I have here is a magnet to help me not drop these screws when they come out. If you do end up dropping one, it's just a regular screw. You can get one from the hardware store to replace them.
Now that we have removed the screw, then we can just pull on the light a little bit. There is a gasket around the edge, so it does stick. Now that the light is separated, you can just reach in and, with your thumb, pull back the tab and pull out the harness. This here is your taillight connector board. Sometimes, if you're taillight's not working, you replace this board, and it will work. Also, if you just want to replace the bulbs, you just remove the two little screws here, pull the board out, and you can replace the bulbs.
With that, now we can reinstall it, hook up the harness, get the tabs to line up, and push it in. Line up your tabs, then put the screws in. What I would suggest for putting the screws back in is put the screw on the screwdriver, very carefully put it in. Same thing with the bottom one, very carefully.
There you have it. Taillight replacement on a 92 to 99 Suburban or 88 to 99 Chevy or GMC truck. Not much more than a Phillips screwdriver, a pen magnet if you have one, and you're set. You can either fix the damaged one, or if your light's not working in your replace the bulbs, and also replace the taillight connecting board.
We hope this helps you out. Check out www.1AAuto.com for all your parts needs. Thank you. Okay but not great

Bought replacement headlights for my 91 Chevy K1500. Received parts at estimated arrival date, but had an issue with headlight adjustment on one side. The up/down adjustment mechanism did not work at all, had to swap the one off my old headlight, which made a simple job much more difficult. ( I didnt want to go thru return hassle. )Also, if you buy this kit save your old mounting bolts (which have tapered ends), theyre much easier to get started. But, I am happy to have lights that I can see with, and the price is very reasonable.

Everything came on time. Was very easy to use the online website to order. Only negative was the box it came in had a huge gaping hole in it that went eight thru another box holding my front headlight cracking the bottom of the light. Had to put glue & a sealer over it hoping that solves water from getting in.
Great Packaging and Shipping

The stock headlights were so yellowed over that I couldnt see 10 feet in front of me at night. I like the OEM lenses better than the smoke lenses you seem to find everywhere else, so when I saw that 1A Auto had the complete kit of all OEM lights for about the same price everyone else was selling only headlights, I couldnt pass it up. The headlights, turn signals, and side markers are absolutely great. The tail lights were just an added bonus until I actually installed them and took a step back. They have a beautiful ruby red color that I couldnt believe how great they looked. In the 3 years Ive had my 91 Chevy, Ive never seen it look so good. I am definitely going to be a returning customer for anything else I need.
Pretty decent

New light bulbs are not included. Occasionally, manufacturers leave test bulbs in the lights. If you receive test bulbs, you'll want to replace them with your original bulbs or with new bulbs.
