Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to change the battery in your keyless remote, as well as replace the entire assembly. This particular part fits the 2000 through 2002 models of the Chevy Suburban. You'll need a new key-less remote rebuild kit from 1AAuto.com and a flat blade screw driver.
As you can see, our key-less remote is damaged, but if you had a good one, you'd want to pry right here in the slot. We're going to show you on the damaged one, so you'll have to guess a little bit where it is. You pry it apart, and then you can just pull out this rubber part that has your buttons on it, and the chip pulls out of that.
Up at the top is the old key-less remote; below it is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll work exactly the same. Now, if you just wanted to swap your battery, you just pull it out right here and then just push your new one back into the chip. And for your new key, you just want to push the buttons down into the plastic case, push the chip down into that, and then put the back on and snap it into place. Now just give it a quick test, and you can see it works, so we're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.
