Hi. I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. Today, I'm going to show you how to replace this third brake light assembly in this 2008 Chevy Silverado. If you need parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1AAuto.com.
We're going to take a Philips head screwdriver. Take the two Phillips head screws out. This one as well. Pull those screws out. You can pull them out completely. Grab the light assembly, and just slide it back. Then disconnect the connector right here. Just push down on the button and slide that connector off.
I'm going to reinstall this assembly. You want to make sure that if this clip slides down, like this one did, that you reinsert it into this position, right there. Make sure this one's good too. Connect this connector right here. Plug it in like that. I'm just going to take a rag and wipe this. You can use a little bit of soapy water or some glass cleaner to clean this up a little bit, because if you don't clean this up when you reinstall this, you're probably going to end up with a water leak, because there's a seal on here. Looks pretty good.
Slide this into position. Take our screws. Get that one started. Get this one started as well. Take my Phillips head screwdriver, and just snug it down not too tight. The lens assembly is plastic, so you don't want to crack it. I'm good to go.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the bulbs in the third brake light on this 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500. We're also going to show you how to remove the entire assembly if you need to, if it gets cracked or broken. The tools you'll need for this are a Phillips screwdriver and maybe some pliers to help you turn the sockets.
Start off by removing these two Phillips screws here. Once those are out, you can just pull that third brake light out and push the tab on the harness on the back to disconnect it.
Go to replace the bulb. You just turn it, pull the bulb right out, push your new one in, and then you just turn the socket back in. It's the same for each of them.
Now you can reconnect the harness and feed that wire back up into the truck, push it into place, and then replace those two Phillips screws.
