Brought to you by 1AAuto.com your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like these to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we're going to show you how to service the parking light both the bulbs and replace the whole unit on this '98 Explorer same as any '95 to '01. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver. Servicing your parking lights on this Explorer is pretty easy. There's a little door that you push a little tab it comes up like that. Then there are two Phillip screws. Here and here. Remove those screws. Now you want to lift up and then with your finger here I'm just going to reach in and pushing on the light. Then you lift it up over a lift there then it comes out and then behind me you can service the bulbs. Mostly they'd twist. This lights here as well. Twist down. Come out. A little tough though. Maybe you have to unplug first. The same thing with this one, I guess. Unplug and twist out. Then these bulbs just come out. Bottom one is the new one from 1A Auto. Top one is the original. You can see the new one from 1A Auto is going to mount all the same and obviously it's a little brighter.
You can be replacing this if you just want to freshen up the front of your car. More if your old one got into a little incident or something like that. There we go, mount up the new one. Bulbs plug right in. Then we'll plug in this top signal. Then it goes in and twist. Plug in this bottom one. Then we plug in this one. As you go and put this in make sure this connector is not turned too far up or too far down it needs to be straight as it goes into a little relief here. Now as you put them in you want to make sure there are pins here. I'll show you on the old one here. There's pins right here and they line up and go into these. You want them clear. There's also an additional one over here. So, you want to put that up in and look in there, make sure you're getting those pins in the right spot. Make sure over here. You put your screws in. Then flap that back down over. After replacing that you can see how badly we're in need of a new headlight.
