Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we show you how to service your front differential on this 2006 Jeep Liberty. The items you'll need for this are an 8mm Allen bit and ratchet, a 3/8" ratchet with extension, a drip pan, gear oil, and a rag. Jack and jack stands aren't required but they could help to make this a little easier.
Your front differential is located right here. Your drain plug is located right here. Using an 8mm Allen bit, just remove that drain plug. Make sure you have a drip pan underneath it and just let the oil drain out. When it stops draining, replace that drain plug and make sure you tighten it up.
The filler plug is right here. You have to use a 3/8" ratchet to remove it. Then once it's removed, refill it with the gear oil that your vehicle requires. You know it's full when it starts to trickle out. Now replace that plug. You want to make sure you tighten it up. We'll just fast foward as Don does this. Then, using a rag, just clean up the area. You're all set.
