Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the rear differential on this 2002 Suzuki XL-7.The items you'll need for this are a 3/8 inch ratchet, a drip pan, and 75W-90 gear oil.
Your rear differential is located right here. Here's the filler cap. Right here is the drain plug. Using a 3/8 inch ratchet, just remove that drain plug. Make sure you have a drip pan underneath it. You can see, we do have our vehicle up on a lift, but there is enough clearance under this vehicle that you can do this without it jacked up. When it stops draining, replace the drain plug and tighten it up with your 3/8 inch ratchet.
Now remove your filler cap, and replace your gear oil. You want to keep doing this until it starts gushing back out. Then replace your filler cap, and just tighten it back up. You're all set.
