This little fuel door spring can be the cause of a lot of grief if you own an older Toyota Camry. They're very common to fail and very easy to replace. It can save you a lot of aggravation the next time you go to fill up your tank. If yours has failed and you struggle to get the gas door open, simply take a small screwdriver, put a little bit of pressure on, and have a friend open the latch for you.

Install the square edge of the spring into the hinge. You'll have to close it a little while hooking this tab over this lip on the inside of the door. There is just the right spot that these things will go in together. Once that's all set, snap the lock into place. Now your fuel door opens easily.
