Hi. I'm Mike, from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
What's up, guys? I'm Andy, from 1A Auto. Today I'm going to show you how to replace a battery on this 2014 Honda Odyssey. If you need parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1aauto.com.
First I'm going to take a trim tool and I'm going to remove these two push pins right here. Pull that up, and then over here. You can grab this. Just slide it out. There's a rubber piece over here that goes into the air box; this is just what channels the air into the vehicle.
Now we can access the battery. I'll take a 10 millimeter socket extension and ratchet and I'm just going to take this mounting bracket off. You don't have to take the nut all the way out; just get it past like that. There's a little hook down below, there, and same with the back side. Just loosen it up a little bit. You should be able to grab the hook. Just slide it out just like that. Take this whole bracket off.
Now we're going to start with disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery. You always want to disconnect the negative side first when you're removing the battery. Loosen it up with the 10 millimeter socket then shake it side to side. Set that aside so it doesn't arc out and then take off the positive side. You want to make sure you don't contact the negative side while you're doing this. Then wiggle this back and forth, set that aside.
There's a little cover on here. You can take that off. Grab the battery, pull it out. I'm going to compare the size to the new one, make sure it's the same size, make sure the terminals are on the same side. Install the new one. Line this tray up and take this cover, put this cover on.
That looks pretty good. It's a good idea to leave this handle on so if you ever have to take it out again, it's a lot easier. You can cut it off if you want to.
We want to install the positive terminal first. Make sure it's nice and clean. If your old one's dirty, you're going to want to clean it. This one looks good, so install the positive side. Take a 10 millimeter socket and I'll just snug this up. You always want to install the positive side first when installing the battery so that you don't arc it out on some metal.
And then you can take the other side, the negative. You want to make sure you take these covers off. Take this negative cover off. Oops. Install the negative terminal and take the 10 millimeter, snug it up. Looks good. Just give it a wiggle, make sure it's nice and tight.
Now you can take this bracket. I'm going to install this underneath the handle just like this. Get it lined up. Get that little hook to go through the hole at the back side, and then same with the front side, just like that. Take my 10 millimeter socket and ratchet and I'll snug this up. Just snug, not too tight. Just make sure the battery's in there good.
Next we can install this air intake. Slide this into position with the rubber grommet on the back. Push these two push pins in right there, same with this one. Line it up, lock it down.
