Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a spark plug on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan with the 2.7-liter V6 engine. The operation is pretty similar for all 6-cylinders. Tools you'll need include new spark plugs, 8mm socket and ratchet, 5/8 spark plug socket, an extension for that, and a spark plug gap tool. We've provided you with an engine cylinder number diagram. You can see the back side of the engine is 1, 3, and 5; the front side of the engine is 2, 4, and 6. We'll be showing you how to replace a spark plug on the front side bank of cylinders.
Go ahead and locate your ignition coil packs. That's 2, 4, 6, and on the back side, it's 1, 3, and 5 on the end right there. We're going to be replacing the spark plug in cylinder number 2, so we're going to remove the harness that goes to the ignition coil there, and then we are going to use our 8mm socket and ratchet and remove the 2 screws that hold it in place. I'll fast-forward as I do that.
Now with those screws out, you can go ahead and pull out your ignition coil. Down below the ignition coil, you'll see your spark plug. I'm using the 5/8 inch, the smaller of the 2 spark plug socket sizes with an extension and a ratchet. I'm going to be removing that. I'm going to be fast-forwarding as I do that. I'm just going to use a little magnet there to help pull that spark plug out.
This vehicle has got an emission control sticker on it right up here. It's vehicle emission control information. There, you'll see your spark plug gap size. You'll see I've got a new spark plug here and a gap tool. I'm going to take that recommended gap, set it to my new spark plug, then I'm ready to reinstall. Reinstall the new spark plug. I'll go ahead and fast-forward as I tighten that down.
Now, you can reinstall your ignition coil pack there and reinstall the two 8mm bolts that hold it in place. Using your socket and ratchet, go ahead and tighten them down.
