How to install the towing hook on a 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Volkswagen Jetta
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
If you're in a situation where you need to have your vehicle towed or pulled from the front, the front tow-hook is located in the spare tire styrofoam pack below the carpet. I just want to take this off. Remove your wrench. Remove your jack. It also comes with a flathead screwdriver so you can get the piece off of the front bumper to access the threaded portion, and this is the tow-hook itself.
To access the port on the passenger side of the vehicle for the tow-hook, you want to take the supplied flathead, and just pop the cover off. It will stay attached. So you move your tow-hook portion aside. You insert your tow-hook, which is reverse thread, so you're going to turn it counterclockwise, which can feel very strange.
Insert your tow-hook, and just get it as tight as you can by hand, and you should be able to tow your car onto a flatbed or whatever you need to do with it.
