The first step of installing the lock and roll bed cover is to put your bed rail sides. There's a beveled side out. This is the straight side and then you want to put the three clamps on evenly spaced. They go in this little groove, goes over the groove here. You don't want to block the spots where the middle bows go. You put it down in, put this clamp up and in, and then you don't want to tighten it up yet, you just want to kind of put it together finger tight. You want to be able to move things around. We'll repeat for the other side as well.
Now, take your cover and bring it to the front. Insert it into the front of the side bows. Once you have it in, tighten up the finger nut. I'm just going to make sure that I position the front of it where I want it. Now, I want to measure as close to the front as possible the distance between. I have 64 inches so I want to come back here and get 64 inches, but also have it centered as best as possible. 64, I'm just checking the middle, 64, so now I'll tighten up these clamps. Use the supplied Allen wrench or your own wrench to tighten them up.
Now, for your support bows, you're just going to lay them in place first. They go into the grooves on the side. Make sure they're in on both sides and then roll your cover out.
On each side, you want to rotate it down into place. You don't want to push on the middle of the bow, you want to push on the outsides.
Just take the outside. It has a plastic lip on it. Pull it down. Once you get it started, it's very easy, but sometimes getting it started – right here, lift up and then slide it into place. Once it's started, once it's down far enough, it pretty much almost goes right in by itself. It helps if I just kind of grab it here. Pull it down, back up. Position it all like that. Again, this edge, shove it in.
Now, you're all set. Shut your tail gate and open it back up. Open your cover, pull down to unlock it. Then, just roll it right up. Make sure the sides kind of start and then usually you can do it by yourself, but it's always good to have a friend with you. Come on, friend. You always want to use the straps and you can remove the bows and store them in the side.
