Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the camshaft position sensor on this 2004 Chrysler Sebring. This model has the 2.7 liter V6 and it's going to be the same process on any of the Dodge and Chrysler vehicles with the same engine. The only tools you're going to need for this are a new camshaft position sensor from 1AAuto.com, a 13mm wrench, and a flat-blade screwdriver.
To locate your camshaft position sensor, it's right here with the red clip on it. You're going to have to first remove that plastic cap. So, just using flat-blade screwdriver, pop that cap off and then you just want to push down on that red tab and then the harness should pull right off. Now, you just want to remove this 13 mm bolt. We're just going to fast forward as Don removes this. Once that bolt is removed, the camshaft position sensor will pull right out.
On the right, is the old position sensor; on the left, is a new one from 1AAuto. You can see they're identical and will mount exactly the same. You want to just take your new position sensor and push it down into place. Then, go ahead and replace that 13mm bolt, and we'll fast forward as Don tightens this up. When you tighten it, make it firm with that small wrench which is probably around 12 to 15 foot pounds, not too tight. Now, you can reconnect your harness. Push that red clip back up, and replace that cap. Now, your camshaft position sensor is all set.
