In this video we're going to show you taillight replacement on this 2006 Malibu, same as 2004 - 2008 sedans. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screw driver, and we show you both if you just need to service the bulbs as well as if you need to replace the entire taillight due to break, or some type of small accident.
Start with a Phillips screw driver and there's a little screw right here. Inside we have to remove your net if you have one. Take that off, and here there's two more thumb screws. Fast-forward here as I remove those two thumb screws. To remove the taillight, pull back and off. If you're just looking to service the bulbs just turn counterclockwise on these sockets. The bulb comes out, pushes back in. Same with these other two. If you want to replace the whole taillight because you had an accident or something just pull up a little, pull up this little tab here and disconnect this harness, and the light comes off. Okay, new taillight from 1A Auto, you can see is exactly the same as the original, so if yours has been broken or faded, or whatever, you can see it going to go in with the plug, plugs right in. Make sure that your studs line up. Push it back in and secure it with your two thumb screws. I'll speed it up again here as I tighten up those two thumb screws. And last but not least put that Phillips screw back into the body.
