Where to place your jack and jack stands to lift you 14 Honda Odyssey
Jack Stands
Floor Jack
Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
Hi, everyone. Sue here at 1A Auto, and today we're gonna show you lift points on a 2014 Honda Odyssey.
If you're gonna lift it up with a floor jack, the jack that the car comes equipped with, the best place to lift anything is on the lift points right here. On the pinch rails, there's cutout so that the scissor jack can fit right in there. My lift is on it. There's four points. They're located in the same place on both left and right side. This is the rear one, and then the rear's over here. This is actual, the lift point right here, see the extra enforced folded ridge? And then there's one in the front.
You can, if you have to, use a floor jack on the subframe. But make sure you put jack stands. Never use a floor jack or a jack stand on a controller. I would prefer if you lifted it on the lift points and put your jack stands on the subframe after, if you need to work on the engine department.
If you have to lift it up in the rear, there's a cross member here, and they put a little piece of steel here. You can put your jack right here in the center. It balances it out. Do not use the rear lower control arms. Do not use the shock tower. These things will bend, end up cause damage. But if you could center it right here, and then you could set your jack stands up in the crevice on there, or ... You've just gotta make sure you're level. So if you put a jack stand out here on this point, where that hole is, it probably would be safe. You also have your body mounts here that you could put jack stands on, and that will be a lot safer.
