Where to place your jack and jack stands and how to raise and support your vehicle on 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Subaru Forester.
Jack Stands
Floor Jack
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
To raise and support this Forester, we've got it up on our two post lift, but if you're doing it in your driveway, you can slide a floor jack under here and jack up on this plate. That's basically the bottom of the subframe.
To lift the front of the car up, you could put jack stands under here. These are pretty solid points, or underneath where our jack pads are on our lift. There's two notches cut into the frame rail. You could put a jack stand under there. You can also roll a floor jack under here, and jack up to lift the car up if you just want to change the tire. And then you can put a single jack stand under here.
If you just want to work on one side of the vehicle, that should cover you for the front. Then the rear, you can roll a floor jack under here and jack up on the rear differential. That will lift the rear of the car up. I would put a couple jack stands right under here under this part of the subframe or, again, you could slide your jack stand out here on the pinchweld.
There's two notches. It's hard to see with our jack pad here, but you could also jack it up with a floor jack here. Then put the jack stand right here again. If you wanted to do just one side to get one wheel off that should pretty much do it for raising and supporting this.
