In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the driver's front door panel, pretty much the same as the passenger's door panel, on this '94 Corolla, the same as any '94 to '97. The tools you'll need are a flat-blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, and possibly a door-panel clip tool.
You're going to want to start by removing your inside door handle. There's a Phillips screw right in the middle, and you can see I'm using a Phillips screwdriver to remove that. Then the handle slides forward. This one's in there a little bit tight, so it takes a second. Then I pull it. It slides forward and then comes out. Then, in behind, there's a rod with a clip. You use your finger, undo the clip, and then use your finger again, pull the rod up and out of the door handle and off.
Next, there's a little trim panel right at the top of the door near the mirror. Just pull it off with your hand. Now, you want to pry up on your door, on this arm-rest pad. Then remove these two screws. We'll speed it up here, as we use a Phillips screwdriver to remove those screws. Get under the front there. Pry it up gently. Pull this up and out. There's a little button right under here. Press that and release your switch panel.
Now, if necessary, use the door-panel clip tool. Put it under, find the clips, and this one actually comes off pretty easy. Now, lift your panel up and off. Okay. There really should be a plastic water shield on here, but this vehicle is missing it. We're going to put our door panel into place. Make sure our power window and door lock parts comes up through. Make sure the door lock is through. Hang it up there, and then I guess we can kind of just go in behind, find the pins, line them up. We'll speed it up here as we put those, start those screws in and tighten them up. You want to tighten them firm, but don't over--tighten them.
