Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years' experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we'll be showing you removal and installation of a door panel on this 2003 Yukon, same for any 1999 to 2003 GMC or Chevy truck plus the 2000 and 2003 Yukon, Yukon XL, Suburban and Tahoe. The only tools you'll need are a 7 mm socket and ratchet and a screwdriver.
Start by carefully with your hands kind of work your hand right under and gently pull. There are two clips that hold in that triangle. Then, on your switch here gently pull up and out and back and then on these switches they have little tabs that you push. I'm pushing with this finger here and pulling. The same thing with this next one here. Then this mirror has a tab right here, with my thumb push on that. I'll actually use a screwdriver. Just kind of work it in right there, help me pry and I'll pull on the connector. They're kind of tough the first time sure.
I'm using a screwdriver again. Make sure it's nice and clean. You want to pry the back of this rock button up and it comes off. Then there's a bezel right around your door handle. Just kind of reach in and pry that up and take it off. Two 7 mm bolts, one right here and then one down in below. Now the panel lifts up and off and reach in behind and here's the seat heater. You want to push right here on this clip. I like to use a screwdriver to push on that clip. Pop the heater button through like that. Then down here is your speaker lead. You can probably use your screwdriver to work it down in and work the lead off. Be careful not to damage your speaker at all. Then lastly, this is your bulb for your courtesy light and it just pulls straight out of the assembly.
What I like to do before I install it, I actually take the courtesy light out and you can do this beforehand. It's a little easier to pry it out from the backside, just flip it out. I can drop it. Put that aside for a second. Make sure that light harness goes through there. Reach in behind and plug in your speaker lead. Push your seat here through. Make sure all these harnesses come through. Then make sure that's through. This is through. Your harnesses are up and through. Speaker is hooked up. Flip the pin a little higher; push it in on all four corners in the bottom. When you feel like you have it all in slide it down. Make sure you're nice and tight against the door. Then we can put all this back together. Slide your seat heater in. Pop it in. Install your two bolts. Make it snug. Put the front in first. Put the bottom in. Black plug goes to the rear. That light is working. Mirror. Work the front in first. Slide it a little forward. Push it in, push it down so the door stays unlocked.
Here is your lock. The red should be to the back. Last, but not least. Okay, you are all set.
