Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!

I'm going to lay a heavy blanket on the roof so that when we rest the hood on roof, we don't scratch it. To remove the hood, start by disconnecting the washer fluid hose. Just get this little joint section here. You can pull off either hose. I'm going to try the bottom one first. Those disconnected, loosen the 12-millimeter nuts that are here in the bottom of the hood. You're going to want someone to help you hold this hood up once they're fully off because we're going to place the hood with a blanket on the roof, and then we'll lay the hood on the blanket on top of the roof of the car. You also have to undo the washer fluid hose from this hinge. It's got these little push clips. Use some pliers to push them in. Release the tabs. That one's undone. The other one's in the back of the hinge.

Okay. I'm using a 12-millimeter socket and ratchet. Now I'm going to get somebody to help me hold the hood. Now with somebody helping me, we're going to lift the hoof up a little bit. Put the prop rod back in the holder. I've got these pretty much loose. I can take them off by hand now. Put the hood on my shoulder.

With the hood off, walk it back and place it on the roof of the car. Push the hinges down. I like to take the nuts and put them on the studs so they don't get lost.

With the help of an assistant, we can reinstall the hood. Lift it up. We're going to place it down just sort of on the plastics by the cowl. Lift up the hinges. It sometimes helps to get one side caught first. Bring it up a little bit, just like that. Go in here and hold it. Get these nuts caught. All right, so with those caught I'll hold it. You can do that side. All right. Now, as far as the hood alignment goes, this is actually pretty close. You can see where the paint line originally was, and that's basically where we want the hood. Just going to tighten these down til they feel tight and then stop.

Now that that is all set, I'm going to take the hood prop down and hold the hood up. Now that the hood is reinstalled and supported with the prop rod, can re-hook up the washer hose. There's one down here, here on the cowl. This little splitter, I'm going to hook that up because that's actually coming from the reservoir. Just push this together. Now I can re-run these clips. That was in the hood. This ran along the hood hinge. Clip that in.

This one ran along over here. Then this just gets pushed right in there. The hood is reinstalled. The final thing, we're going to lift it up, put the prop rod away. Just double check that it sits nicely. That gap looks nice. This gap looks nice. The hood is all set.
