    Trim Tool Set

We're going to remove the rear door window switch and trim using a plastic prying tool. You can buy these from 1AAuto.com if you don't have them. Work it under the trim. Pull it up. Slide it out. Unplug the door window switch, pushing in the lock on the connector, pulling it from the switch. Okay.

To remove the inside door handle, pull the handle open. Take the small, flat bladed screw driver. Remove this trim cap that's in here. So you remove this trim panel, [inaudible 00:01:14] to drop it in here. Take a paper towel or a rag, just to put it in here, because I need to remove the Phillips head screws that are back here, and if I drop them, I don't want them to go inside the door panel.

Grab the door handle, slide it out. It's attached to the control rod that's inside here. Then take a flat bladed screw driver, push the lock tab out to unlock it. Then we use the screw driver to lift the rod out of the little bushing that it's in. We've removed our handle.

Remove the Phillips head screw in the top. Remove the Phillips head screw that's inside this hole here. With the screws removed, the only thing holding the door panel on is the plastic clips. I'm going to take our plastic prying tool and try to work it under the door panel. I'm using that to help spread the door panel apart. I'm going to take our larger plastic prying tool. These all come in the same set you can buy from 1AAuto.com. I'll use this to press the door panel off. Lift our door panel of the door lock actuator, the little button.

Reinstall our door panel. We'll feed this door harness up inside the panel. I’m going to hang the door. Sometimes you have to reach in and get this door lock rod situated. Push it in to the clips. Reinstall the bottom screw. Reinstall the upper screw.

Before we install out upper door handle, I'm going to just put out paper towel in there, or a rag, to help keep anything from falling in there and getting lost. We're to put the control rod back into this grommet, so the control rod is going to go into this hole. Once it's all the way seated, you'll flip this around and lock it, and it won't come up. So I'm going to use some small needle nose pliers to grab the control rod. Pull it out. Slide it up and in. Now that it's in, I can spin this clip around. It needs to go down just a little bit more, so it's seated. Just go all the way around. I've got it locked in there. This can sit. This has a little hook on this side; it's going to hook in and then push in like that.

Take our Phillips head screws and reinstall them. Reinstall our plastic trim cover. It's got two tabs on the top and a tab on the bottom. The two tabs on the top are going to go in first. Door handle is installed.

Take your paper towel out of there. Install the door window switch and trim. Connect the electrical connector. It's got a hook on this side, here. It's going to hook on to the door panel. Slide it in like this. Window switch and trim in installed.
