Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and replace the rear door panel on this 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the extended cab. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The only tools that you're going to need for this include a flat blade screwdriver and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Start off by prying up this panel behind the pole handle, and then pry out this little panel beyond your door handle. Now, you want to remove this 10mm bolt and these two 10mm bolts right here. We'll fast-forward as Don does this. Now pry off this panel. It just pulls right out.
Then you want to do the same thing to the panel on the other side. Just pull out the clips on the back. Now reach in behind your door panel and just pull out to release the clips. You want to do this all the way around the door panel. Once it's free, you want to just lift it up and out of that window sill. On the back of your door panel, you want to push the tab on that harness and pull it free. Then pull this cable up and out.
Now, to reconnect your door panel, re-clip this cable and then pull out on it and pull it up. Then push it down into place and then reconnect your harness. If your switch panel pops out when you do this, just push it back down. Now, you want to put your door panel back down into the window sill and make sure that those clips line up with the holes on the door. Then just hit them back into place. Now push those two upper panels up into place. Just hit them in to activate those clips. We'll fast-forward as Don replaces those three 10mm bolts. Now replace the small panel behind your door handle and the larger panel underneath your pole handle. You're all set.
