How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken, damaged, faded, worn or faulty turn signal switch on 00 Nissan Pathfinder
Hi. I'm Mike from 1AAuto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
All right. We want to remove this lower cover. There's Phillips head screws. There's one, two, three, four, five, six Phillips head screws you need to take out of this cover. All right, now, I got all those screws out. Now, I can grab the panel, right here. Pull it down. There's a trim piece that goes over your ignition switch. Just pull that out. Pull this down. It doesn't have to come down any further than that. You can pull the upper one off. Pull that out of your way.
Then, there is two Phillips head screws holding the turn signal indicator switch. We'll take those two Phillips head screws out. All right, so pull that. Pull those two screws out. Then, you can grab the turn signal switch. Pull it up. Then, there's a connector right here. You can push down on it with your finger, or push the lock down with the little screwdriver. As you push down, you want to pull it out, just like that. Then, there's this little white connector. You can squeeze this lock right here, and then pull that out. Just squeeze that like that. Then, there's a connector right here. Do the same with this connector. Just push down on the lock. Pull the connector out, and there's your turn signal multifunction switch.
All right, we're going to put this turn signal switch, headlight switch, fog light switch back together. You'll take this connector right here. I'm going to plug it in here till it locks, just like that. Then, the white connector, connect that one. This other brown connector, plug in like that.
I'm going to line it up. It's going to slide down, just like that. Then, we'll take these two screws, and get that one started. Then, I'll get the other one started. Then, we'll tighten them down. Just snug them down, not too tight. You don't want to strip them. That's good.
I'll take our upper panel and slide it in position. Then, we can lift up on the lower panel. You're going to lock the two together, just like that. Do the same on the other side. We'll reinstall this trim piece. This goes right here. There's a little tab right here that lines up underneath here. Twist this to get this to line up, just like that.
I can reinstall these six screws. Snug those up, not too tight. You are screwing it into plastic, so, you don't want to strip it, just snug. All right, snug those up, and that's it.
