Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we are going to show you front grille replacement. This is a 2008 Dodge Ram. These grilles fit 2006-2008 1500 as well as the 2009 2500 and 3500. Items you will need include a new grille from 1AAuto.com, and we do have a few choices as you will see, 8mm socket and ratchet, pliers, flat blade screwdriver, razor blade, two-sided tape, and if some of your fasteners are a little bit dry, you may need some locking pliers and penetrating oil.

Open up your hood. The grille is held in by a series of six nuts on top and six bolts across the bottom, each one of the nuts we are going to hit with a little bit of penetrating oil on the side. 8mm socket, deep socket is helpful, but air tools are nice for speed. You can see how these three nuts are so rusted that they just kind of broke the studs out. Not a big deal on your old ones, because you are not too worried about it. Bring it down. Come off. These ones will stay behind, you can see they just spin, so we will lock our pliers onto them, hold them in place, and remove the nuts the rest of the way.

For you emblem, use some pliers, try to knock these clips down a little bit, and then carefully pry from the front side. You want to scrape as much of the residue from the old two-sided tape off as you can. The best thing is a razor with a razor holder, and really best to put it into a lightweight or a vice or something so you do not risk cutting your hand.

Here we have got an original grille that we removed from our truck, and then we have three options from 1A Auto. The original grille on this truck was all chrome, at 1AAuto.com we have the all-chrome option, we have this, it is chrome with the black inserts, and then we have a paint-to-match grille. This one is designed for vehicles, say a red vehicle that has a paint-to-match grille, you can sand this down and paint it. The nice thing about these grilles is if you want to make the surround a certain color, but you do not want these lubers, you want the lubers to stay black, you can remove the lubers.

Two-sided tape on the back side, the pins will line up, and press it on. Just take a second to clean off underneath, good time to throw a coat of wax on as well. There is longer tabs at the top. You want to make sure those go in first, and then you may have to lift up a little bit, but those should pretty much go right on.

Reinstall the six nuts and the six bolts, and tighten them up so they are firm with a socket and ratchet. We are all set. Make it pretty.

Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
