Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video we're going to show you how to replace the air intake box on this 2002 Chevy Suburban. It's the same part and similar process on these Suburbans from 2000 to 2002. The items you'll need are a new air intake box from 1aauto.com, flat blade screwdriver, and a T20 Torx driver.

Start off by loosening up this hose clamp and then pull this hose from the air box. Lift up the air box and push it toward the engine to free it from the side and then lift up that hose and lift your air box up and out.

On the left, is the old air intake box. On the right, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Swap over your air filter meter and then loosen up the four screws on your old air intake box. Now, the top of the box will pull free. Now, remove the four T20 screws on your new intake box and we'll fast forward as Don does this. Lift the top off, put the air filter into place, and then put the top back down. Replace those four T20 screws.

You want to push these three tabs down into these three holes. Pull back the air hose and push the back end of the air box down in first. Push the box straight down into place and make sure you push those tabs in. Push the hose back onto the front and then tighten up that hose clamp. We recommend taking the sticker from your old air intake box and transferring it over to your new air intake box, only because it has some important information on it, such as your spark plug gap size. Just peel it off. It stays sticky, but you can add more glue if you feel it's necessary and then just push it into place and you're all set.
