In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a battery in a '97 Buick LeSabre. The process is very similar for many GM vehicles. You're going to need an 8 millimeter wrench, a 13 millimeter socket, a socket and wrench, and an extension. Got a battery here at the passenger side front.
We're going to use an 8 millimeter to take off the battery terminal starting with the negative. Here, I'm removing the positive terminal on the battery. Using the 13 millimeter socket, the extension and the socket wrench to remove the batter hold down bracket. Go ahead and pull the battery out.
I'm going in with the new battery here. I'm reinstalling the battery hold down bracket, and I'm using the socket wrench with the extension to tighten it back up. I'm starting with the positive terminal. I'm reconnecting the battery. Now we're reinstalling the negative terminal.
