Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
A battery hold down, while it may seem like a minor detail, is very important in making sure that your battery doesn't rattle around and risk cracking. This will allow the battery acid out, which is what allows it to store its power.
If your battery hold down is missing or broken, you can replace it with a new part from 1AAuto.
You just need an 8 millimeter socket, ratchet and extension.
Remove the bolt. Remove the battery hold down and bolt from the batter tray.
Here, we have our old battery hold down that we removed from our vehicle and our new part from 1AAuto.com. While there's nothing wrong with our old part, these are very easy to damage or crack, as well as the bolts breaking off in the trey.
Once you've gotten your old damaged parts out, this new part from 1AAuto is the exact same size and shape, has the same channels and the same notch to hold your battery down in place, and keep it from rattling around and cracking the case, causing a dangerous mess, as well as a failed battery and some other expensive repairs. If your old battery hold down is missing or broken, this new part from 1A Auto is going to go in direct fit just like your original equipment and fix you upright.
Reinstall the battery hold down with these two channels lined up with the grooves on the outside edge of the battery tray. Line up your bolt and tighten it down with an 8 millimeter socket, ratchet and extension. Make sure that your battery is secure in there, and you're good to go.
