Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the battery tray on this 2002 Chevy Suburban. The items you'll need for this include a 10mm and 13mm socket and ratchet, and an 8mm wrench.
Start off by removing this 10mm bolt. Loosen this 10mm bolt right here. Just move this brace out of the way. Using your 8mm wrench, just loosen up both of these connections. You start with the negative, loosen it, and then pull that off. Then remove the positive cable.
Now you want to remove this 13mm bolt. Pull this battery hold-down up, and out. We'll just fast-forward as Don removes that bolt. The hold-down will pull right up, and out. Lift your battery out. Remove the seven 10mm bolts in the battery tray. We'll fast-forward as Don does this. Lift the battery tray up, and out.
Put your new battery tray into place, and then replace those seven 10mm bolts. We'll fast-forward as Don replaces and tightens those up. Lower your battery back into place. Put your battery hold-down back into place. Just tighten that back up. Reconnect your positive battery cable and tighten it up. Reconnect your negative battery cable and tighten that up. Put that brace back in place, and then replace that 10mm bolt and tighten it up. We'll just fast-forward as Don tightens up this 10mm bolt and the 10mm bolt at the other end of the brace. Once that's done you're all set.
