Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the fan blower resistor. This is what controls the speeds, so if your vehicle maybe only has speeds one and four, it's usually that the resistor's bad. The only tool you'll need for this is a small flat blade screwdriver.
Remove the lower plastic cover under the passenger side of the dashboard by pulling straight down and toward you. We've removed the blower motor to make it easier to film this job for you, but you should be able to remove the blower motor resistor with the blower motor still attached. Remove the connector. Using a stubby Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two Phillips head screws. This may be easier if you peel the carpet down and out of your way a little.
Install the blower motor resistor into the slot in the HVAC box. Reinstall the two Phillips head screws. Push the carpet back up into place. Reinstall the electrical connector. Install the rear pin into the hole by the firewall and snap the front clips into place.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
