How to Replace Blower Motor Resistor 2000-07 Ford Focus

step 1 :Removing the Blower Motor Resistor
- Open the glove box
- Push in the sides of the glove box and pull it down
- Disconnect the resistor wiring harness
- Remove the 8mm bolt from the resistor
- Pull out the resistor

step 2 :Installing the New Blower Motor Resistor
- Put the new resistor into place
- Insert the 8mm bolt into the new resistor
- Connect the resistor wiring harness
- Lift up the glove box, push in the sides, and push it in
- Close the glove box

In this video we're going to show you how to replace your blower motor resistor on this 2005 Ford Focus. It's the same part and process on these vehicles from 2000 to 2007. The items you'll need for this are a new blower motor resistor from 1AAuto.com and an 8mm socket and ratchet.
Open your glove box, and on other side there are tabs. Just push in the sides of the glove box and pull it down. Your blower motor resistor's located right here. There's a harness connected to it. Push the tab on the bottom of the harness and pull the harness free. Next, you want to remove the 8mm bolt at the bottom of the resistor. We'll just fast forward as Don removes that. Once the bolt's removed your resistor just pulls out.
On the left, is the old one. On the right, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they're going to mount exactly the same. Push your new resistor into place and then twist in, by hand, that 8mm bolt. Then tighten it up with your socket and ratchet. Next, reconnect your harness. Then, push in the sides of your glove box and close it, and you're all set.
