Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you how to replace the cabin air filter on this 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. It's the same part and similar process on these Jettas from '97 to 2005. The only items you'll need for this are a new cabin air filter from 1AAuto.com, and a Phillips screwdriver.
First, just peel back this weather stripping, and then remove these four Phillips screws. We'll just fast forward as Don does that. Now, lift up this top panel, and then pull this lower panel forward and out. Now just lift your cabin air filter up and then pull it forward and out. Then push the filter from this bracket.
On the left is the brand new cabin air filter from 1AAuto.com, and on the right is the old one that definitely needed to be replaced. You can see they are identical and they're going to fit exactly the same. You want the air flow arrows pointing down. You just push your cabin air filter into this bracket. Then push the bracket and air filter back down into place. Now lift up on this top panel and slide the lower panel back into place. Then replace those four Phillips screws. We'll fast forward as Don replaces and tightens up all four of those. Now replace this weather strip and you're all set.
