Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the interior cabin dust and pollen filter in this 2003 Nissan Maxima. It's the same as any 2000 to 2003 Maxima as well as the Infiniti I30. You'll need a new filter from 1A Auto. We have those available, shipped right to your door, and then you'll just need a Phillips screwdriver.
First, you're going to remove a series of screws. They're Phillips screws: there's one there, one right over here, and then when you open up the glove compartment there's one there, two holding the latch, and one over here. Speed things up here a little bit as I remove those six screws. Okay, and once you have those out, pull, actually, another strip off here a little bit. Okay, then that allows this to come down. There's a harness.
Actually, what you can do is just squeeze these tabs together and bring this whole thing out. Okay, and right down here, I will clip the bottom and pull that right off. Take this door and slide it up and off. Just pull the filter right out. Pull one out, another one drops down, pull that one out.
Okay, so there's my old filters, and new filters from 1A Auto. I think they look a little bit better. They do have air flow arrows on them, so you can see arrow points, and the air is going to be flowing from the outside of the passenger side to the inside, so you want to make sure that those arrows are pointing basically to your left as you're sliding them in. We'll slide one in pointing that way and slide it right in.
Okay, this door does have a little tab on the top. Put it in place, have it lifted up just a little bit, and then slide it down into place. Put the little clip back on at the bottom. I'm just going to super fast-forward through putting the glove box back in. It's pretty much a matter of just putting it back into place, putting those six screws back in place, and putting your weather strip back in place.
