Needle nose pliers
Trim Tool Set
What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video I'm going to show you how to replace this cabin filter on this 2010 Toyota RAV4. If you need this part or other parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1aauto.com.
Open the glove box, there's little pins to come out of the glove box right here. I'm going to use a trim tool. Pry these out on both sides. You could use a screwdriver as well. Pry that out, and then this basically slows the glove box down when you're opening it up, it's like a shock. I'm just going to take some needle nose pliers, just squeeze right here. Take my trim tool and just pop it off like that, and then I can take the glove box and just slide it out. The cabin filter is located right here. Just push this little tab here, you can slide this cover out. There is a notch right there, you want to slide that out. Now we can grab the cabin filter and just slide it out, just like that.
Here's the old part. Here's the new cabin filter from 1aauto.com. It's got the same shape, it's the same size, has the same pleats. Get yours at 1aauto.com, and you'll be ready to rock and roll.
So on the filter, it actually shows which way you want the air flow to come. The air flow comes from up top and goes down. The lower actually sucks it in. What you want to do is have this filter in this direction, and it seems like there's some gaps on the side, and that's okay. It is going to seal up if you pull this out and look, it's going to seal right there and right there. So don't worry about that. Slide that in that location and take the cover and just lock it down. There's these hooks that are on the bottom of the glove box. Now these are going to slide onto these rods right here on the dash panel. Now they are slotted, so if you slide it on at a certain angle, they go on easier, just like that. Then we'll take this rod for the damper. Actually, we'll just slide this up a little bit, clip that into place, and then take the damper. Slide that over and you're to go. Double check, make sure it works.
