What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace the cabin filter in this 2015 Chevy Silverado. If you need parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1AAuto.com.
Open this glove box. I'm going to take a T15, and there's a screw here, a screw here, and there's two underneath here, one there, and then also one there. Take all four of those out. I'll use the T15 extension and a ratchet. Take that last screw out. With all four of those screws out, I'm going to open this upper glove box. Grab right here and underneath, and pull it straight back. There's some clips that hold in it, there and there.
There's a cover right here over the cabin filter. There's some clips on top. Pull this clip, release that, then release the clip on the other side. This wiring harness is kind of in the way a little bit, so slide it to the side a little bit, and then pull the cover up and out. There's clips on the bottom. Just slide it out. Here's the cabin filter. Just push it in the middle a little bit and then you can grab it. Be careful. If you hear any acorns fall or any pine needles or leaves, then you're going to have to take the blower motor out afterwards, because they're going to fall in there and then you're going to have a noise. Here's the old one. It's definitely overdue.
You want to look at the new filter and find the direction of the air flow. So, and you want the arrows pointing down because the air comes in from up top. Just slide this in here. You can bend it a little bit to the side. Make sure that fits snug. Before you do put that in, just check and make sure there's no leaves or pine needles right there as you're putting it in. Now we'll take this cover, we want to slide the bottom two retainers in first, the two alignment pins, and then push it and lock it in place.
Take the glove box with it closed--just line it up. There are some alignment pins right up top. Get those into position, lock it in place. Open this up. Now we'll get these two screws started up top, and then I'll get the two bottom screws started as well. Take that T15 extension and ratchet and we'll tighten these up, just snug. It is plastic, so snug that last one up and we can close that up.
