Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the battery on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. The items you'll need for this is an 8 millimeter wrench, a 10 millimeter and 13 millimeter socket and ratchet, and penetrating oil depending on the condition of your bolts.

To access the battery, you want to remove this 10 millimeter bolt, this 10 millimeter nut which we're going to just spray with some penetrating oil, and then this 10 millimeter bolt right here. We'll just fast-forward as Mike removes those. Pull the bar from the stud and then lift the bar up and out. Then remove these 2 battery cables, and to do that you just want to loosen them up with an 8 millimeter wrench, and then they just pull free. Pull this hose from the battery cover and then lift the cover up and out. Then remove this 13 millimeter nut in the battery tie down. Once those are removed, just lift your battery up and out.

Take your new battery, put it into place, and slide it forward. Then replace that hold down and the 13 millimeter nut, and tighten it up. Put the battery cover back down into place, making sure that your battery cables are outside of the cover. Once you have it down into place, reconnect that hose and then replace your battery cables and tighten them back up. Lower this bar back down into place, push it onto that stud. Then replace that 10 millimeter nut, tighten it up, and then replace the two 10 millimeter bolts and tighten those up as well. Then you're all set.
