In this video we're going to show you how to replace a battery in a 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck. It's going to be very similar for many model years of the Ford F150 pickup truck.
You'll need an 8 mm wrench as well as a 10 mm socket, socket extension and socket wrench.
On the passenger side of the engine compartment, you'll find the battery. Starting with the negative side, remove the terminals, with an 8 mm wrench. Repeat for the positive side. After those are removed, you can lift off the cover. Along the side, you're going to see a 10 mm bolt that holds the clamp. Loosen bolts, remove clamp and pull out the battery.
Clean up the battery tray and the terminals if they have any corrosion on them.
Install the battery. Make sure the positive side lines up with the positive cables, and the negative side lines up with the negative cable. Put the clamp back in. You can see the wedge goes toward the engine. Tighten 10 mm bolts that hold the clamp. Reinstall the battery cover. Starting with the positive side, connect and tighten. Repeat for the negative side. Once you tighten up those terminals you should be all set.
