Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the EGR control solenoid valve on this 2000 Nissan Altima with a 2.4 liter engine. The items you'll need for this include a new EGR control solenoid valve from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver or pliers, and a 10mm wrench.
Your control solenoid valve is located right here, and you just want to push in the tab on the harness and pull it free. This is held on by a 10mm nut and these three hoses. To start off, use a flat blade screwdriver (or pliers) and pull these hoses free. You can see we actually use both tools. Then, using a 10mm wrench, you just remove that nut, and the valve pulls free.
On the left is the old EGR control solenoid valve; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and will mount exactly the same.
Take your new control solenoid valve. Push the hose into place. Push the stud back through the bracket and replace that 10mm nut. Then tighten it up with your wrench and push those last two hoses into place. Reconnect your harness, and you're all set.
