How to remove and replace the engine air filter on a 2011 Ford Fiestaon 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 Ford Fiestas.

Hey, everyone. Sue here from 1A Auto. Today we have a 2011 Ford Fiesta in the shop. I'm going to show you the location of the air filter housing and how to change the air filter. Start right off--it's under the hood. It's in front of the driver's seat. You can see the air filter box. It's this box to the left of the battery. It has four mounting bolts. On this Ford Fiesta, they choose a Torx bit in the center and that is a T20. Looks pretty rusted, but let's cross our fingers and see if we can get those. I don't think they have to come all the way out. They just have to come out to a free spot. You'll feel a freeness to it.
Now this one is pretty rusted. It looks kind of rounded. Let's see if I can get it. If you can't get it with the T20, go one step up. I've got a T25. Let's see if I can get that in there enough to grab it. There we go.
Now some people will take this air hose off. I don't. I like to keep it minimal. There's no need to get any deeper than you have to with certain things. It lifts right up clearly. Take the filter right out. Just grab the edge and peel it. That's not letting much get by.
Now we'll check the housing for any debris in there. Looks pretty clean. Here's what the new filter should look like. I think it's time. You can see the angle. There's an angle to this air filter. When you look at the housing box, you can see how it goes. Make sure it seats all the way flush and line your cover back up. Grab my T20, and I'm going to start the three that work. Now I can start it.
Now that they're all started, snug it down. You just want to make sure you start them all in case the box sits a little crooked. You don't want to have to undo it. That last one I'm going to move over to a T25 because it's kind of rounded. You want it as tight as you can get it--air-tight. You don't want any water getting in there. That's it.
