In this video we're going to show you how to change the oil on this 2000 Nissan Altima with the 2.4 liter engine and the items you're going to need for this is a 14 mm socket and ratchet. A drip pan, oil filter wrench, oil, oil filter and jack and jack stands. Your oil pan is located right here and you want to just remove this 14 mm drain plug, make sure your drip pan is underneath it. Just let that oil drain out. Once it's drained replace your 14 mm drain plug and tighten it up. Your oil filter is located right here and you want to just use an oil filter wrench on it to loosen it up. Once it's loosened up you can just remove it by hand and again make sure your drip pans underneath there because there will be some oil trapped behind it.
Wipe down the area. Your new oil filter and some fresh oil and just rub it around that O ring and then twist your oil filter back up into place. Spin the filter till it contacts and then tighten it another two-thirds to three-quarters of a turn. Remove your oil fill cap and you want to just replace the oil and you can find out the type of oil and how much of it you need in your user manual. Replace the oil cap and start your vehicle, just let it run for a second. Turn it off and pull out the dip stick, wipe it clean, push it back in all the way. Pull it back out and check your oil level and we're all set.
