Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the vapor canister purge valve on this 2004 Volkswagen Jetta with the 1.8 turbo engine. The only tool that you're going to need for this is a flat blade screwdriver.
Your vapor canister purge valve is located right here, and you want to start off by just pulling it off of this bracket, pushing the tab on this harness, and pulling the harness free. Now, pry off this hose and now pry off the hose on the other side. You may have to pry up on the tabs on this clip to loosen it and then pry that hose off.
Make sure you pull this off your old vapor canister purge valve and push it on to your new one. Then reconnect the hoses to the vapor canister purge valve making sure that the hoses are all the way on. Then push the purge valve back onto that bracket, reconnect your harness, and you are all set.
