Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show how to replace the hood support struts on this 2004 Dodge Ram, same as any '02 to '08. If your hood is not staying up, this is what you need to do. It's an easy replacement. You just need a small flat-blade screwdriver.
First, make sure you have your standby support system or have somebody that is helping you out hold the hood. This is really very easy. Just use a small screwdriver. There's a little clip. You can pry it from either side. You just need to pry it out some. It'll let you pry that clip out. That comes off, and it's the same thing at the top. Pry the clip out, and it comes off.
Then the new ones will just pop right on. You might have to lift up your hood just a little bit. Put them back on.
