How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a weak or sagging hood or hatch strut on 14 Toyota Tundra
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
To remove the hood support, open up the lock with a flat blade screwdriver. Do the same for this one here. Pull off the ball stud and make sure you have a good hold of the hood. It might want to come free. You can let it down if you need to go grab your new one.
These ones are working fine, so we're going to put them back on. It's not terribly heavy, but I'm going to pop it onto this one here as it's closer to my hand. Push the lock over. I'll get this over here first. Now, it's helping to support it and I'm just going to pry it over get back over on the lock. Locked it place. We do the same for the other one. Just set them up and they snap down into place and your hood support's changed.
