Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace an ignition coil on this 2006 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7L V-6 engine. The only items you'll need for this are a new ignition coil from 1AAuto.com and a 10mm socket and ratchet with an extension.
Right here, is ignition coil 1, 3, and 5. On the other side, is ignition coil 6, 4, and 2. We're going to show you how to replace ignition coil 1, but it's a similar procedure. You just pull that hose out of the bracket, disconnect the harness by pushing the tab and then remove that hose clamp. This just pulls right off of the stud. Then, you want to remove this 10mm nut. We'll fast forward as Don does this. Once that's removed the ignition coil pulls right up and out.
On the left, is the old ignition coil. On the right, is a new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical. They're going to mount exactly the same. Take your new ignition coil and push it down into place. Now replace that 10mm nut and tighten it up. We'll fast forward as Don does this. Reconnect your harness. Push that hose clamp back into place. Re-clip the hose into place. Then you're all set.
