How to install, repair, fix, change or replace a broken, damaged, burned out, cracked, faded, cloudy or chipped inner tail light / brake light on 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10 Volkswagen Jetta.

step 1 :Servicing the Tail Light Bulb
- Pull back the tail light flap
- Release the tail light bulb tab
- Pull down the bulb socket
- Twist the bulb counterclockwise out of the socket
- Twist the bulb clockwise into the socket

step 2 :Removing the Tail Light
- Remove the two 10mm nuts from the tail light
- Push out the tail light from the inside

step 3 :Installing the Tail Light
- Push the Tail Light into place
- Fasten the two 10mm nuts onto the tail light
- Push the bulb socket into the tail light
- Close the tail light flap

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the inner taillights on this 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, same for any '05 to '07 Jetta. The only tools you'll need are the 10mm socket and ratchet and extension, and maybe a flat blade screwdriver.
Now, to service the bulb, you just want to pull down this flap on the back of the taillight, and then push on this tab, and pull the socket down. To replace the bulb, you just push it in, twist counterclockwise, then push your new bulb in, and twist it clockwise to lock it in.
If you're removing the assembly, you just want to remove these two 10mm nuts. Once those are removed, you can just push from the back of the light, and it'll pop out.
Take your new inner taillight, and just push it down into place, and then replace and tighten up those two 10 mm nuts. Now, just push the socket back into place, and then close that flap.
