Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace one of the inside door handles on the front door on this 2003 Honda CRV. We show you the driver's side, but the passenger side is basically the same procedure. It's pretty easy. Only tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver.
To remove one of your interior door handles, use a small screwdriver. Go right up here at the center top and kind of work your screwdriver in there, and kind of twist and pry out. There are two Phillips screws. I'm going to fast-forward here a little bit as I just remove those two Phillips screws. On the door handle, pull out, and there is a connection right here. You press a button and pull that off. Then right over in here there's a clip that holds the latch rod. You can either use your finger or your small screwdriver. Use your small screwdriver and push that clip off. Disconnect there, and then just kind of reach in with your finger and pull that rod up and out of the handle. There is your door handle out.
If you have power door locks, you're going to want to undo two Phillips screws here and swap your power door lock switch to your new handle. Okay, I'm going to fast-forward here. Swapping that switch is just a matter of taking out the two Phillips screws that hold it. Putting it into your new handle. The only thing is, you want to make sure on the driver's side that the connector for that switch faces down. Make sure your clip is pointing right towards the door. Put this close.
Connect your power door lock switch first. You're going to have to kind of reach in with your finger, pull this rod out, put the handle in there, get the rod down in, and then flip the clip around and lock it on. Put it back in and reinstall your two Phillips screws. Little trim door, make sure the two tabs, it's got two tabs on the bottom, one tab on the top. Put it down in and push it in place.
