Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the front inside door handle in this 2006 Nissan Sentra. We show you on the driver side, but the passenger side is basically the same procedure. The only tools you'll need include a Phillips screwdriver and a small flat blade screwdriver.
If you manage to take this panel and lift up - you have to get your fingers underneath and underneath back in here and lift up firmly - it comes right out. Then this lifts up firmly as well. Then right back here is a little tab on your harness, push that in and disconnect the switch harness. Now, right in behind here there are two 10mm bolts or you can use a Phillips screwdriver, although using a socket and ratchet is a little easier. With a screwdriver you do have to press very hard to get them going. Those come out.
There is another small clip right up in here with a Phillips screw. Put your screwdriver in there and lightly turn it. You may have to just reach in behind with your fingernail or a flat blade screwdriver and try and pry that out because it doesn't always come right out. There's also another Phillips screw right down here at the bottom of the door panel. Remove that screw.
Take your small screwdriver and carefully pry out this bezel around the door handle. Pull out on the door panel. It pulls right up and off. Next, you want to remove this cup. There are a couple of little tabs right up here. Use your small screwdriver again, and pry those up. Pull your handle out and off. Then behind there is a Phillips screw. Remove that screw. Slide the handle back and it comes out. Then you can actually pull your handle out like this. Remove your water shield some, here. These rods just, you pull your head all like that and then push the rods up and they come out.
The new door handle from 1A Auto goes right back in the same way. You can tell which is which. The door lock will have a dent in it. Bring that one up, we'll put the latch one in first. Just pull it out. Look back in there, you can see where it goes into place. Put it in and then turn your handle like that. Do the same thing for the lock. Pull it out and put the rod down into the handle. Once you get it then just twist your handle like that. Put your handle against the door and push it on. There are three tabs. Make sure all three go in. Make sure the handle is flush against the door. Put your Phillips screw back in. Put this back in place and push it on.
We're going to install our door panel which is pretty easy. Just make sure that your harness comes through. Hang the door panel up, make sure to pull it down all the way, like that. Then your clips should line up. You just need to hit on it a couple of times. This one down here, I'm just going to lift up a little bit. Put these two Phillips screws back in. This little plastic one just pushes right into place. Screw underneath right into place. This goes on, pushes in to lock in place. Reconnect your power window switch. Put the front down in first, then lock the back in place. Put this right into place and press down and on.
