How to remove and replace the key fob battery for an 11 Toyota Prius
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
All right, to replace the key fob battery on this Toyota Prius, you kind of push in on this to pull the emergency key out. Leaves a little slot here. Take a small flat-bladed screwdriver, just pry it open gently, it should pop right apart. Just like that, a little extra pop there, and then you can, if you need to, you can just work around it—it should come apart pretty easily though. Just like that.
Rright inside is the battery with the circuit board. That's all loose stuff in there. That's actually your buttons there. This is a 1632 battery, and to pop it out, just going to hold it like that, take the small flat-bladed screwdriver, just pop that right out.
Take your new battery. It’s positive side up. Push it right down into place—it'll click in. You have to make sure that that seats in flat like that. Take the other half, just make sure you got this opening here, the wide opening matches with that button there. Align it up. It should click right together just like that.
Reinstall your emergency key. You can actually see that little red button lights. Battery's replaced.
