How to replace a broken, damaged or burnt out license plate bulb to the 10 Nissan Murano.
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
We're going to remove this lower inside tailgate trim. You start by popping out these cargo lights, just pushing in the plastic trim tool. Get these from 1AAuto.com. Just kind of go in this side. Pop it down. Push the lock in. Pull it out of the lamp. Put that lamp aside, so I can reuse it. Do the same for the other side. Put that aside.
Now we get these four push clips out of here. A good little tip, with these push clips that have a flush head to them, you can actually push them in. Seems counterintuitive, but you push them in, and then you can pry them out. I'm just going to pop these little grab handle pockets. Just going to take the plastic prying tool, put it in the top and they'll pop right out. Repeat this for the other side. Pull it right out.
Take my prying tool. Kind of wedge it into the gap here. Pry it down and pop it off the clips. Work my way around. All right. Let me go do the other side. Do the same thing. Just kind of work it in there. Pry it down. Whoop. You basically just have to snap all the clips free, and that will come right out. The license plate light bulbs have to be accessed from inside of the car once the trim is removed. There's one here, and one here. Then just turn the socket and pull it out.
There's a 194 bulb in there. Pull it right out, and change it out. Put it right back in. If you needed to change the socket, you could unclip it by pushing in the connector, pulling out the connector lock and the electrical connector. Other one will be exactly the same. It's a little cloudy. Still working, but a little cloudy. We're going to change it.
Put this back up into place. We also need to feed these wires out for the lights. Reach out, these are going to go in here. I'm going to line those up like that. Grab this one down here. Then I can get this solid up like this, and I can start to push these ends in. Just like that. Okay. I'll go right along the edge, just push all the clips back in. Take our push clips, put them back into place. Push them back out with that. Just kind of work it. Push them back in.
These handles are marked up, so we want to up direction. Same for the other side. Plug our lights back in. Just like that. Put them back up into place. They'll snap in, and it works again. Do that for the other side. Plug it in. You can tell the wider part is where this wide part's going to go, because these are both the same left and right. Pop it in, just like that.
