How to remove, install, change or replace a broken, worn out, motor mount on 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 Honda Civic.

step 1 :Removing the Lower Torque Strut
- Remove the three bolts from the torque strut with a 17mm socket and breaker bar
- Remove the strut

step 2 :Installing the Lower Torque Strut
- Insert the torque strut into place
- Hand-tighten the three bolts
- Tighten the bolts with a 17mm socket and ratchet
- Torque the lower two bolts to 47 foot-pounds
- Torque the last bolt to 69 foot-pounds

Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
We have the vehicle raised and supported. We're going to replace this lower torque rod, it's under here near the engine oil pan, and attaches to the subframe.
Before you remove this, have new bolts on-hand for this: there's one, two, and three. These are a 17 millimeter head on this bolt, I'm using a socket ratchet extension to remove it. Loosen up the other one. Use a large breaker bar to remove this one and a 17 millimeter socket extension. I can see the top of this bolt, I'm going to spray some rust penetrant on here, a little bit in here. I've still got these two bolts in here, but they're loose, till I get this one out. Switch to a ratchet to make this a little easier. Spray some rust penetrant in here.
So, this bolt is obviously steel. There's a steel insert inside the rubber bushing that's inside this. It started to thread out but then, due to corrosion, it's gotten stuck. It's just kind of spinning on the bushing back and forth. I'm going to try to tap it with a ball peen hammer, try to break it free. Now, finish removing these two bolts. Slide this out.
Here's our original lower torque arm from our vehicle, and our brand new one from 1AAuto.com. Exact same design, same plastic, same style rubber, same style mounts. This should fit in the vehicle and work great.
Install our new torque arm into place. Slide that in, line that up here, and get the bolts caught. I've left these bolts loose, because I can line up the hole. Install your new bolt. Snug these down. Do them evenly, and then I will come back and torque them. Torque these two bolts to 47 foot pounds. Torque this bolt to 69 foot-pounds.
