How to remove, install, fix, change or replace a broken Mass Airflow Sensor / Meter on 11 Chevy Camaro

step 1 :Removing the MAF Sensor
- Pry out the yellow clip
- Press the tab and disconnect the sensor
- Remove the two 7mm screws from the sensor
- Carefully remove the sensor

step 2 :Installing the MAF Sensor
- Tighten the two 7mm screws to the sensor
- Connect the sensor wiring harness

Right here, you've got your mass airflow sensor. There's a little yellow clip. Ours is partially broken already. To remove it, we want to just pry the clip out like that and then push the tab down. At that point, you can wiggle a connector enough to disconnect it. Then you have two 7 millimeter screws on the top and the bottom. At that point, you should be able to wiggle the mass airflow sensor right out.
Be careful with it because it actually has some pretty delicate parts on it, like right here. Sometimes there's another one inside it that you can bump into. In this case, it just has this one. The mass airflow sensor occasionally will get dirt built on it, which will throw off your temperature readings going to your computer, or sometimes these little electronic devices will break and then in that case you need a new one.
In our case, it actually is working great, so we're going to pop it right back inside. The way to do that is obviously put it right back in. Make sure it's seated properly all around the edge because there is a rubber seal in there that can fall out. Then reinstall your 7 millimeter screws. Tighten these down with your 7 millimeter ratchet, socket, and extension. You don't have to get too crazy with them because it's only a screw going into plastic. Then of course you'll want to plug it back in and then re-seat the lock like that.
